Dear colleagues,
On behalf of the Organizing Committee, it is our great pleasure to invite you to the 22nd EUROSON Congress hosted by EFSUMB and the Danish Society of Diagnostic Ultrasound to be held in Copenhagen, Denmark 22-25 August 2010. The Scientific Committee plans to present a variety of exciting and educational features. A main focus point for this EUROSON congress will be "Innovative Ultrasound". The development of ultrasound has indeed been innovative. If it had not been for pioneer researchers, who dared to challenge the dogmatic believes in the early sixties, who dared to use their imagination and who dared to share their knowledge, ultrasound imaging would probably not have been such a successful medical imaging modality now used worldwide for many different purposes by many millions of users. In Denmark we are proud to say that ultrasound diagnosis plays a significant role in our medical history. The Hans Henrik Holm group took the first step, and since then committed ultrasound enthusiasts have continued the work. We can assure you that we will do our utmost to exceed the previous organized Ultrasound events in recent years hosted here in Copenhagen – the 6th World Congress in Medical Ultrasound in 1991, the 15th European Congress in Medical Ultrasound in 2003 and the total of 9 International Congresses on Interventional Ultrasound with the latest being held in 2006. We hope that this congress will be just as memorable. Our ambition is to provide the right conditions for you to be able to share and exchange knowledge about ultrasound and that this congress will bring us all another step forward in developing medical ultrasound. We have chosen The School of Architecture of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts for the Congress site location. These buildings radiate charm and reflection. Situated at the waterfront in downtown Copenhagen they provide excellent settings for the scientific program as well as a comfortable short distance for a stroll down the main shopping street "Strøget" and interesting tourist attractions. The waterbus will connect you with the congress venue within a few minutes if you choose to accommodate at one of the excellent congress hotels located downtown Copenhagen. The social program will be an opportunity to see old friends and make new acquaintances and it will appear as an integrated part of the congress. Just sign up and enjoy! The Organizing Committee and the Danish society of Diagnostic Ultrasound will do our best to ensure you great congress settings. Together with your active participation we hope it will be a successful congress in terms of a sound scientific program as well as a great social environment enabling new contacts.
